Visiting Hour (2019)
Three Singers, Violin and Cello
Jack, a young teenager, begrudgingly visits his ailing grandfather Douglas in a nursing home to interview him about his former career as part of a school project. As he enters the home, he is visibly bored, and a little disgusted at the decrepit condition of the home and the sedentary of its occupants. Tepidly, he begins to interview his grandfather about his former life, but quickly begins to learn new things about Douglas’s past. Jack learns about the shipbuilding trade and the importance of it, especially during wartime. He also learns about his grandmother’s job as a tracer. He soon realises that, despite his outward appearance, he still has an active brain, and begins to see him as his former self.
